Pratt & Whitney Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) HPC Design group seeks a highly proficient detailfocused Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to serve as Senior Design Integrator across the F135 ECU and Base HPC programs. The selected candidate will lead design integration strategy for the Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) testvalidation phases and beyond to ensure critical lessons learned from the F135 HPC Base program are successfully captured transferred and embedded into ECU.

This seniorlevel role requires recognized technical expertise crossdiscipline leadership strong communication skills ability to mentor/coach others and the ability to influence strategic design direction across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and CIPTs.

What You Will Do

As the Sr Design Integrator you will:

• Develop integrated design strategies for ECU module and enginelevel testvalidation phases ensuring efficient configuration planning technical readiness and execution of pretest and posttest activities.
• Drive BasetoECU lessonslearned transfer maintaining crossmodule and crossdiscipline alignment so historical knowledge ESW improvements and best practices are applied consistently and early.
• Serve as a technical design leader and goto integration expert providing guidance and crossdiscipline problem solving for complex issues involving structures aero HT&SF manufacturing quality and other modules.
• Oversee designvalidation workstreams coordinating manufacturing readiness EFPRs engine builds and moduleintegration activitiesincluding HPC gappingand leading technical riskmitigation strategies.
• Lead or support designstrategy and disciplinedevelopment initiatives shaping toolsets methods improve EKS content and data systems used across the design organization.
• Mentor and coach engineering talent by providing training technical reviews approval authority and support for earlycareer engineers.
• Drive engineeringefficiency improvements through automated tool development advanced datamanagement techniques and the use of AIenabled workflows.
• Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 10 years of prior relevant experience or
• Advanced degree in a related engineering field with 7 years of experience in mechanical design
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Excellent communication relationshipbuilding and crossfunctional collaboration skills
• Experience working across complex IPT and CIPT structures including design integration roles
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management tools
• Broad understanding of engine hardware engineering 2D drawings ModelBased Definition (MBD) and manufacturing methods
• Advanced datamanagement and processing capability; experience developing smart tools or automation
• Ability to leverage AI to accelerate engineering workflows
• Ability to work in fastpaced environments with strong attention to detail and deadlines
• Proficiency with Unigraphics NX Teamcenter engineering standard work SAP Class I and II EC processes
• ANSYS experience desired
• Certificates or advanced training in mechanical design are highly recommended

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design development and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering Mechanical Design Structural Analysis and Product Definition.

The salary range for this role is 132400 USD - 251600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
