Noon Energy is a leader in long-duration energy storage developing battery technology that stores energy by splitting CO₂ eliminating reliance on rare metals. We are scaling from megawatt (MW) to gigawatt (GW) production of our energy storage products.

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 710 years of hands-on experience to lead the design development and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and hardware products. This role spans concept through production and requires strong analytical capability technical ownership and the ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines. (
- Design and develop mechanical components assemblies and systems using CAD tools such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Own the full product lifecycle including 3D modeling detailed drawings P&IDs PFDs BOM generation and equipment specifications.
- Design and integrate complex process systems incorporating instrumentation such as thermocouples pressure sensors and flow meters.
- Perform engineering analyses including stress thermal fluid and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Support the development of mechanical systems for demanding high-temperature operating environments.
- Create and maintain technical drawings specifications and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable industry standards and safety requirements.
- Apply GD&T principles and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Participate in and lead design reviews providing technical guidance to the broader engineering team.
- Collaborate with electrical manufacturing product and other engineering teams throughout the full development cycle.
- Support prototyping testing design validation and production-readiness activities.
- Interface with vendors and suppliers on component and equipment selection technical evaluations specifications and procurement.
- Identify and resolve mechanical design issues through structured root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Drive improvements in product performance reliability cost and manufacturability.
- Incorporate testing analysis and cross-functional feedback into iterative design improvements.
These responsibilities reflect the roles intended ownership across mechanical design process systems engineering analysis documentation vendors testing and manufacturability. (
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 710 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated ownership of products or mechanical systems from concept through production.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles materials and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Strong analytical problem-solving technical communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with energy systems chemical processing long-duration energy storage or advanced hardware startups.
- Experience designing complex process systems involving instrumentation and vendor-supplied equipment.
- Experience with high-temperature mechanical systems and materials.
The first six required qualifications are directly aligned with the existing Noon JD. ( The process-system and high-temperature preferences come from the more detailed Job Profile which specifically identifies instrumentation integration and approximately 750C high-temperature design using superalloys and ceramics.JobProfileSenior
On-site in Mountain View California. This role is expected to work primarily from Noon Energys Mountain View location or another future Bay Area location.
Base salary: $180000$205000 annually with a target range of approximately $190000$195000 plus a meaningful early-stage equity grant.
Actual compensation may vary based on experience qualifications skills and other relevant factors.
