Summary

Celestica Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Technical Leader to manage the Celestica Market-leading Power Solutions Design Team in Austin. The Senior Manager will be at the forefront of the industry leading the design and development of complex first-to-market End-to-End Hardware Platform solutions often involving experimental ASICs and prototypes across storage compute and networking. The successful candidate will lead a design and development group and will be responsible for engineering assignments related to hardware products as well as systems including the development of new products updates to existing products or sustaining current products. The candidate will work closely with Product Marketing Procurement and Software teams to drive product definitions.

Detailed Description

Serve as the technical leader and consultant to a high-performance engineering team ensuring the team operates efficiently and possesses the necessary expertise.
Lead and mentor the power electronics design team including PI specialists providing technical direction and fostering a culture of innovation execution excellence and continuous learning.
Drive requirements definition feasibility analysis architecture tradeoffs and design reviews.
Collaborate with system architects to optimize power management strategies dynamic voltage scaling telemetry and workload-aware power delivery solutions.
Lead power delivery roadmap planning technology assessments and vendor engagements to accelerate the adoption of next-generation technologies.
Drive continuous process and design efficiency improvements including common design libraries Design for Cost (DFC) and automation initiatives.
Establish and conduct testing routines develop project plans budgets and schedules and document work and test results.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive leadership customers and cross-functional stakeholders while representing the team in technical reviews and strategic planning discussions.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power electronics.
Minimum 10 years of board-level power design experience.
8 years of experience designing power electronics solutions for CPU GPU ASIC PCIe FPGA etc..
4 years of managerial/leadership experience.
Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on.
Background in leading teams with power electronics modeling and simulation tools (e.g. SIMETRIX/SIMPLIS LTSpice Pspice Sigrity PowerDC Celsius PowerDC or equivalent).
Familiarity with EDA and PCB design tools such as Allegro Cadence ORCad or equivalent.
Expertise in server architecture data center hardware and high-speed interfaces (PCIe Gen5/6 DDR5/6).
In-depth knowledge of industry safety and quality standards.
Successful track record of bringing complex products to market.

Desired Qualifications & Skills
Masters degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
15 years of experience in power delivery architecture and design for advanced SoC CPU GPU AI or accelerator products.
Strong understanding of power delivery network (PDN) design control loop theory power integrity transient response electromagnetic interference (EMI) and thermal management.
Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced prototype-heavy R&D environment demonstrating an ability to navigate unknowns and recover quickly from development failures.
Track record of building or scaling an engineering team on complex safety-critical programs.

Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
  • 14 years of relevant experience in power solution design.
Typical Education
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred
