Senior Manager, ESCI Data Engineering

Were looking for a Senior Manager to lead the data strategy and the teams responsible for Apples Environment Supply Chain u0026 Innovation (ESCI) data foundation the system of record behind Apples reporting on labor and human rights supplier readiness u0026 development community engagement materials carbon chemistry and resources. This work underpins both Apples public commitments and the assurance and audit processes that stand behind this role youll own the product vision end-to-end from strategy and roadmap to hands-on execution with cross-functional teams spanning Product Managers Designers Software and Platform Engineers. Youll inherit a portfolio of systems at mixed maturity including environmental metrics and supplier-facing tools. A core part of the job is sequencing and balancing resources and being clear with internal and cross functional partners about be a people-first leader who can grow and mentor a high-performing team while aligning everyone around a shared vision and navigating trade-offs between user experience technical feasibility regulatory requirements delivery timelines and driving Apple values.

Youll be based in Cupertino managing a team distributed between Cupertino and Austin and working across the full set of functions that depend on this data. Our team builds the applications and custom AI agents that enable Apple to manufacture every product we ship and to know and report how it was made including strict compliance with Apples Supplier Code of Conduct the materials used and the environmental footprint. Proven track record in change management n10 years managing software engineering or product teamsn5 years leading a combined Product and Engineering organization with full cross-functional ownership across Product Management Design and EngineeringnStrong understanding of software development APIs and platform/infrastructure conceptsnProven track record of defining and delivering a product vision across multiple applications spanning both mature systems in active production use and platforms requiring significant modernization or replacementnAbility to translate ambiguous business problems and evolving regulatory requirements into clear product solutionsnExperience partnering with senior stakeholders across functions including legal communications and audit or assurance functions and presenting to both technical and non-technical audiencesnFamiliarity with auditing systems assessment workflows and reporting or assurance standards and the data integrity and traceability requirements they imposenExperience managing distributed teams across multiple locationsnBachelors degree
