The Engineering Leadership & Development Lead is responsible for defining executing and continuously improving the engineering talent strategy for Collins Aerospace. This includes overseeing all engineering training across Collins developing disciplinespecific capability growth plans and serving as the primary liaison to RTX Engineering. The role works across all Engineering Disciplines and requires a strong working knowledge of those disciplines to assess capability gaps and design training that strengthens engineering performance enterprise-wide. This position also partners closely with the Engineering Process & Tools teams to ensure tool systems and process training is developed and deployed effectively.

What You Will Do:

  • Own the strategic roadmap for engineering leadership development succession planning and capability enablement
  • Oversee all engineering training for Collins Aerospace Engineering
  • Work across Engineering Disciplines and maintain working knowledge of each disciplines practices tools and skill requirements in order to identify gaps and develop targeted training solutions
  • Serve as the Collins Engineering liaison to RTX Engineering for training alignment enterprise development frameworks reporting and crossbusiness collaboration.
  • Partner with the Engineering Process & Tools teams to develop and deploy training on engineering tools systems and standard processes
  • Lead enterprise engineering development programs including earlycareer pipelines rotational programs mentoring frameworks and technical capability accelerators.
  • Partner with engineering functional leaders to identify skill gaps future technical needs and leadership readiness across the organization.
  • Develop and deploy standard processes tools and metrics to assess engineering capability health and talent readiness.
  • Drive consistency and quality across all engineering development programs globally.
  • Coordinate with HR Talent Development and Learning teams to build or refine leadership curricula tailored for engineering roles.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to program participants mentors and engineering managers.
  • Oversee program budgets participant selection processes communication plans and performance reporting.
  • Support employee engagement retention and career growth initiatives within Engineering.
  • Champion Collins cultural values ensuring development pathways for engineering talent.
  • Travel:Up to 1020% including visits to Collins and RTX sites for training and program coordination.

What You Will Do:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • 10 years of engineering experience within aerospace defense or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical talent leading engineering teams or driving organizational capability initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines engineering tools and engineering development processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills including crossbusiness and enterprise coordination.
  • Experience with change management and largescale training or capability programs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Masters degree in Engineering Organizational Leadership or related field.
  • Experience overseeing engineering training or technical capability development at an enterprise level.
  • Familiarity with Collins Aerospace engineering standards development frameworks tools and organizational structures.
  • Proven ability to analyze workforce metrics and convert data into actionable talent strategies.
  • Clearance:None required; ability to obtain a clearance may be preferred for certain engineering domains.

The salary range for this role is 132400 USD - 251600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
