As Vanguard continues to invest in Next Generation Advice and the evolution of self-directed guidance we are seeking a leader to build and lead a team of financial planning experts who will help shape the future of advice. This is a unique opportunity to influence Vanguards financial planning strategy partner across the enterprise and help deliver innovative planning solutions that serve millions of clients.

In this role you will:

• Shape Vanguards financial planning offerings and services across advised and self-directed client experiences.
• Lead the evaluation and deployment of new planning capabilities tools and solutions.
• Partner with product technology methodology and business leaders to bring innovative planning experiences to market.
• Evaluate and collaborate with internal teams and external providers to deliver best-in-class planning capabilities.
• Guide the oversight and evolution of Vanguards financial planning tools and services to ensure strong client outcomes.
• Build coach and lead a team of high-performing financial planning subject matter experts. Youll provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew including setting performance standards review performance and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

What were looking for:

• Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience including at least 5 years of experience in financial planning wealth management financial advice or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing evaluating or implementing financial planning or financial advice methodologies tools capabilities products or solutions.
  • Experience applying financial planning expertise to develop or enhance client advice solutions or experiences.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as product technology business financial planning or methodology teams to develop or implement financial planning or advice solutions.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives or programs involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience building leading coaching or developing teams or financial planning professionals.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education training and relevant professional experience.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior people management or supervisory experience.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.
  • Graduate degree.
  • Experience developing or implementing digital technology-enabled or AI-enabled financial planning or advice solutions.
  • Experience supporting financial planning or advice solutions for advised and/or self-directed investors.
  • Experience evaluating or managing relationships with external financial planning technology tools solutions or service providers.
