Senior Laboratory Automation Engineer

Help drive laboratory automation improve workflows and solve complex technical challenges in a regulated scientific environment.

Were seeking an experienced Senior Lab Automation Engineer to support and optimize automated laboratory platforms and workflows. This role combines hands-on automation support troubleshooting validation and continuous improvement while partnering with laboratory quality and engineering teams to deliver reliable efficient and compliant operations.

What Youll Do

• Serve as a subject matter expert for laboratory automation systems including liquid handlers robotics plate readers and other automated laboratory instruments.
• Troubleshoot instrument software and workflow issues to minimize downtime and improve laboratory performance.
• Develop implement and optimize automated laboratory methods and processes.
• Support instrument qualification computer system validation (CSV) calibration maintenance and lifecycle management activities.
• Analyze system performance data and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
• Train and support laboratory personnel on automated systems and best practices.
• Utilize LIMS ELN and related laboratory systems to maintain data integrity and compliant documentation.
• Author and review SOPs validation documents protocols and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with GLP GMP/GxP data integrity and laboratory safety requirements.

Qualifications :

Required

• Bachelors degree in Life Sciences Engineering Automation Robotics or a related technical field.
• 6 years of industry experience supporting laboratory automation robotics or regulated laboratory operations.
• Hands-on experience with automated liquid handling systems such as Hamilton Beckman Tecan or similar platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for automated instrumentation software and laboratory workflows.
• Experience with system validation qualification and change control activities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple functional teams.
• Knowledge of GLP GMP/GxP data integrity requirements and computerized system validation.

Preferred

• Experience with laboratory automation programming workflow development or process optimization.
• Experience with LIMS ELN and other laboratory informatics systems.
• Experience training mentoring or providing technical guidance to laboratory staff. 

Additional Information :

• Position is full-time Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM. Travel and overtime as needed.
