Senior Java Developer Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer / Application Programmer for a hybrid position (3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for providing senior-level Java development technical direction and oversight as part of a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities include overseeing the design implementation and maintenance of complex computer programs aligning technical solutions to business objectives and ensuring that coding practices comply with software development standards.

Requirements:

• 5 years of hands-on software development experience
• Experience working on high volume applications and server-side frameworks like Spring MVC
• Experienced with the Spring Framework including Spring Boot Spring Security Spring Integration and Spring Data JPA
• Good understanding of SOAP web services and related standards like REST/JSON
• Experience building restful web services
• Working knowledge for front-end technologies like Handlebars Foundation and ReactJS
• Experience with XML and JSON binding libraries (JAXB Jackson Gson etc)
• Experience with Unit Tests (JUnit)
• Experience with GIT Maven Nexus and Eclipse (or equivalent IDE)
• Experience with GIT distributed version control branching/merge strategies and Bitbucket
• Experience with monitoring toolsets like Splunk and Dynatrace
• Familiarity with MQ (Websphere MQ or ActiveMQ)
• Experience in performance tuning with a good understanding of JVM internals
• Experience with Groovy
• Experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Experienced in Distributed System development using Java/J2EE/Web Technologies
• Conversant in Java design patterns
• Basic knowledge of AI agents and using AI for code reviews and writing

Desired skills:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Exposure to Agile Methodologies
• Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to diverse technical business and management teams
• Good interpersonal communication skills for tech and business conversations
• Good analytical skills to break down requirements and solve complex problems
• Ability to provide feedback in code reviews for improvements
• Ability to bring improvement ideas to the team and drive their execution/implementation

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
