The HD Mapping team is seeking an experienced full-stack engineer to lead development of the web services that support the creation cataloging and maintenance of 3D HD maps deployed across Zooxs fleet.
This role will be instrumental in scaling our mapping operations into multiple new cities.
In this role you will:
Own and architect backend services (FastAPI) for the HD Mapping teams web infrastructure
Support development of frontend tools for interacting with Zooxs maps (TypeScript React MUI )
Automate complex pipelines and workflows
Mentor team members on web technologies and distributed systems
You will establish guidelines and refactor existing code to follow best practices
Qualifications
Strong experience in backend development and distributed systems
Frontend experience and knowledge of best practices (proficiency in Python TypeScript and React)
Knowledge of relational database design (Postgres) and RESTful API development
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor others
Experience automating complex workflows (Airflow)
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with FastAPI Kubernetes and ArgoCI
Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems
$192000 - $263000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
