What Youll Do:
Operating at the intersection of Solution EngineeringProfessionalServicesand Product ManagementSeniorForward Deployed Engineers (FDEs)leverage state-of-the-art AI tooling alongside deep implementation expertiseand industry knowledgeto build foundational solutionssolve complex problemsaccelerate our customers time-to-valueand decrease the cost of traditional services.You will partner with our salesorganizationby applying your technical abilities problem solving skillsand business acumen in support of SailPoints growth objectives with our largest most strategic and complexaccounts.
SeniorForward Deployed Engineers(FDEs)at SailPoint embark on their journey by undergoing comprehensive productand salestraining. This initial phase allows them to harness their existing experience paving the way for a profound understanding of our SaaS solutionsand the challenges they solve for our customers.
Withintwo monthsSeniorFDEsbeginparticipatinginsales dealswhere they willleveragetheirproduct implementation expertise as well asclient and partner communication skillstoimplementfoundational solutionsand proof-of-value implementations leading to rapid time to value.
After their first six monthsFDEswillbe expected to serve as technical leads oncustomer engagements andhave established themselves as both technical and consultative experts within the SailPointSalesorganization.
By the end of their first yearthey will have become a trusted advisor to customers partners and to less experienced team members.They mayhave the opportunityto speak at national or regional conferences and user groups.
Responsibilities:
Activelyparticipatein the sales process and work closely with the direct and channel sales teams
Discover and understand customer requirements and align our solutions to those requirements augmenting your expertise with AI tooling
Participate in onsite and remote foundationalimplementation engagements
Educatecustomers on high-level product architecture functional design and best practices
Assist in the analysis and documentation ofcustomer requirements and how they map to SailPoint solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams like sales solution engineeringproductprofessional servicesand customer success to ensurea seamless customer experience
Collaborate with otherForwardDeployedEngineeringteam memberstodesign creative solutions to complex problems.
Master Artificial Intelligence and Agentictechnologiesto solve customer problems.
Contribute to building out Agentic technologysolutions that become our standard for demonstrations of SailPoints products.
FocusonSailPoints largest most complex and strategicaccounts and prospects.
Requirements:
5-7 years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company systems integrator or consulting firm; 3 years of software implementation or pre-sales experience.Experience in software development implementation and configuration
Excellent communications skills and extensive experience working directly with clients and partners
A working knowledge of technical infrastructure including web services application servers databases virtualization and directories isrequired
Conversant in modern SaaS architecture
Experience with agentic coding tools such asCursor Claude Code Kiro Google Antigravity GitHub CoPilot OpenAI Codex
Familiarity with Java XMLPythonLDAPSQLPowershellJSON Azure/AWS/GCP is desirable
Experience with the following tech-stack: NodeJS JavaScript Typescript Angular or
Preferred:
3 years working with Identity Governance and Access Management solutions
Experience with at least one of the following
Windows and Unix (Linux Sun HP AIX) platforms
Relational databases (Oracle Sybase MSSQL MySQL)
NoSQL databases (MongoDB Cassandra Redis)
Directories (LDAP AD)
Enterprise resource planning or service management systems (SAP PeopleSoft ServiceNow)
Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms (AWS Azure GCP)
Familiarity with SailPoint products andvendors such as Saviynt RSA/Aveksa One IdentityOracleIdentity Manageretc..
Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
Experience with project management duties (project planning resource management scope schedule and status documentation)
Experience with quality assurance duties (usability testing performance testing automated testing test scripts test cases and test plans)
Security software or IT audit experience
Education:
Computer Science degree Engineering degree orequivalent experience
J2EE certification and/or CISSP certification is a plus
SailPoint Certified Engineer or Solution Architect is a plus and is expected within 12 months of hire
Travel:
Thispositionmay requireup to 15% travel
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect SailPoints differing products industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary for US-based employees will be in this range from (min-max USD):
$126200 - $212754.00Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employees home location.
