Location
Phoenix AZ On-site with Fieldwork
Join our Phoenix-based engineering team in a hands-on role combining office-based engineering with structural inspections and investigations throughout the Greater Phoenix area. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the field.
Note
Candidates must hold an active Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license have 4 years of building structural engineering experience and possess genuine hands-on structural field inspection or assessment experience. This position focuses on buildings including residential commercial and industrial structures. Experience limited to bridges highways or transportation infrastructure does not qualify.

Job Description
- Lead forensic structural investigations of residential commercial and industrial buildings.
- Conduct hands-on field inspections to assess structural damage deterioration and potential failures.
- Investigate damage caused by foundation movement fires water intrusion vehicle impacts and other events.
- Analyze structural conditions and develop practical engineering recommendations and repair solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports structural calculations inspection findings and supporting documentation.
- Evaluate building structures involving steel concrete masonry wood and other materials.
- Collaborate with property owners contractors clients and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex structural challenges.
- Support engineering quality project coordination and the professional development of junior team members.
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 4 years of structural engineering experience involving residential commercial or industrial buildings.
- Hands-on experience performing building structural inspections assessments or forensic investigations.
- Strong understanding of structural systems building materials and engineering principles.
- Ability to evaluate structural damage perform calculations and prepare clear technical reports.
- Comfortable conducting regular field inspections including accessing roofs and other building areas as needed.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Strong communication analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license forensic investigation experience and structural repair design experience are preferred.
