POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Director Commerce Accounts serves as the senior client leader for a group of strategic Commerce accounts responsible for driving account growth strengthening executive relationships and expanding Marks role as a long-term Commerce partner.

This role owns the overall health growth and profitability of assigned Commerce accounts while helping establish the standards governance and operating practices that enable scalable client leadership across the Commerce business. Working closely with Commerce Strategy Discoverability Creative Operations Analytics and Commercial leadership this individual ensures clients are supported with the right expertise solutions and roadmaps to drive measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a strategic relationship builder commercial leader and trusted advisor who can navigate complex organizations identify opportunities for growth develop high-performing account teams and help shape how the Commerce organization manages and grows client relationships.

CLIENT LEADERSHIP & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

  • Serve as the senior client relationship lead across assigned Commerce accounts.
  • Build trusted long-term relationships that position Marks as a strategic Commerce partner rather than an executional vendor.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client business priorities organizational dynamics and growth objectives.
  • Lead executive business reviews annual planning discussions roadmap conversations and strategic account meetings.
  • Partner with Account Directors to strengthen stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment across client organizations.
  • Provide guidance and escalation support on complex client opportunities challenges and organizational dynamics.
  • Ensure clients receive a consistent high-quality experience across all Commerce engagements.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP & ACCOUNT GROWTH:

  • Own account growth retention profitability and client satisfaction across assigned Commerce accounts.
  • Develop and maintain account growth plans aligned to client business objectives and Commerce opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships diversify services and increase revenue through proactive partnership development.
  • Champion long-term Commerce roadmaps that connect client priorities to the broader capabilities of the Commerce organization.
  • Partner with Growth teams to identify scope and pursue incremental opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Contribute to forecasting revenue planning and growth targets across assigned accounts.
  • Drive diversification of Commerce services across Strategy Discoverability Creative Operations Analytics and emerging capabilities.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE:

  • Lead mentor and develop Account Directors and Account Managers across the Commerce business.
  • Establish and reinforce best practices for client leadership account planning stakeholder management and growth planning.
  • Drive consistency in how client relationships are managed opportunities are identified and account health is measured.
  • Partner with Commerce leadership to evolve account governance operating models and scalable ways of working.
  • Coach account teams on executive relationship management commercial acumen and cross-functional leadership.
  • Help identify capability gaps staffing needs and organizational requirements as the Commerce business grows.
  • Ensure a consistent client experience across Commerce engagements through shared standards processes and expectations.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP & ORCHESTRATION:

  • Partner closely with Commerce Practice team to connect client needs with the right expertise and solutions.
  • Align internal teams around client priorities business objectives and growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate collaboration across disciplines to ensure recommendations are actionable integrated and effectively executed.
  • Help clients navigate complex decisions by bringing together the appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Ensure strategic recommendations are understood adopted and translated into measurable action plans.

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:

  • Monitor account performance revenue profitability and client satisfaction metrics.
  • Ensure work is delivered within scope budget timeline and quality expectations.
  • Partner with Operations and Delivery teams to address resource needs mitigate risks and optimize account performance.
  • Support contract renewals scope development pricing discussions and commercial negotiations.
  • Maintain accountability for portfolio performance and delivery against business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Communications or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in account leadership Commerce digital marketing consulting or agency environments.
  • 5 years of experience leading large complex client relationships and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of Commerce Digital Shelf Search & Discoverability Retail Media Content or adjacent digital marketing disciplines.
  • Proven ability to grow client relationships and expand scope through strategic partnership development.
  • Experience managing account profitability forecasting and commercial planning.
  • Ability to connect Commerce initiatives to broader marketing and business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex client organizations.
  • Exceptional communication presentation relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Highly collaborative leader with the ability to align diverse teams around shared goals.
  • Experience within CPG Retail Commerce or agency environments preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $165000 - $175000 USD annually. Ultimately in determining pay we will consider the successful candidates location experience and other job-related factors.
