Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that support multiple deployment approaches across cloud on-premises and hybrid environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to ensure consistent reliable environments throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Optimize and standardize deployment workflows enabling repeatable release processes that accommodate variations in product and customer requirements.
- Monitor troubleshoot and improve system performance and reliability applying advanced diagnostic skills across distributed systems and complex integrations.
- Collaborate with development QA and product teams to align deployment strategies with architectural goals security requirements and operational best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives refining operational tooling and establishing best practice documentation for deployment and release operations.
- Works as part of a larger software development team to rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in DevOps or related role;
- Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience;
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications;
- In the absence of a degree a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
- Active/current Secret security clearance.
- Hands-on virtualization development experience with extensive knowledge designing and deploying software products using RHEL KVM and the VMWare family of products.
- Hands-on experience with Docker Kubernetes and/or Openshift and related container platform ecosystems.
- Experience establishing virtualization and containerization environments in edge deployments or stand-alone compute systems.
- Demonstrated implementation of microservices and containers.
- Demonstrated experience with developer tools such as GitHub.
- Strong understanding and experience of release engineering CI and CD pipelines.
- Proven track record of delivering high quality and consistent systems and environments for development teams.
- Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects.
- Ability to work in collaborative fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
- Masters degree in a related field.
- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry including working in multiple security domains and on air-gapped systems.
- VMWare Certified Professional VMWare vSphere Foundation Administrator.
- VMware Certified Professional - VMware vSphere Foundation Support.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization.
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
- Advanced proficiency with Ansible including developing and maintaining playbooks.
- Experience coordinating release readiness activities.
- Experience implementing and enforcing configuration control of development environments.
- Experience generating process documentation and training engineers on environment configuration and deployment.
- Communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Design and manage complex infrastructure solutions leveraging virtualization containerization and orchestration tools to support scalable and secure environments.
- Mentor software and systems engineers and promote best practices in DevOps methodologies.
- Collaborate with development QA security and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications and services fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Travel may be required.
