Senior Data Scientist

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support quantitative modeling credit risk analysis and financial forecasting within a large financial services environment. This role will focus on developing and enhancing analytical models used for CECL DFAST/stress testing credit risk measurement and financial forecasting with an emphasis on Multifamily portfolios.

We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette LA Knoxville TN Birmingham AL or Columbia SC. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support quantitative modeling credit risk analysis and financial forecasting within a large financial services environment. This role will focus on developing and enhancing analytical models used for CECL DFAST/stress testing credit risk measurement and financial forecasting with an emphasis on Multifamily portfolios.
The Senior Data Scientist will apply statistical econometric and predictive modeling techniques to complex financial and credit data. The role works closely with Finance Risk business stakeholders data engineering and platform teams to understand business requirements assess available data evaluate model performance and deliver reliable analytical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:

. Develop and enhance statistical econometric and predictive models supporting CECL DFAST stress testing credit risk and financial forecasting.
. Analyze model results and perform credit related analysis across expected and stressed economic scenarios.
. Apply statistical modeling econometrics machine learning data optimization and other quantitative techniques to financial and risk related business problems.
. Develop Python R and SQL based analytical solutions and integrate models with enterprise data and technology platforms.
. Work with large complex datasets to identify trends relationships risk drivers and actionable business insights.
. Partner with business owners Finance and Risk teams data engineers and platform teams to understand requirements data availability and implementation considerations.
. Support modeling applications used for risk measurement financial valuation forecasting decision making and business performance.
. Evaluate model performance research alternative methodologies and recommend enhancements based on analytical findings and industry practices.
. Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of analytical models in an AWS heavy enterprise environment.
. Develop Tableau and other data visualizations that clearly communicate model results trends and key risk drivers.
. Produce technical documentation and translate complex quantitative findings into clear recommendations for business and executive stakeholders.
. Provide technical guidance on data analysis and quantitative modeling activities while keeping work aligned with broader business objectives.

. 5 years of experience in data science quantitative analytics statistical modeling econometrics credit risk or a closely related field.
. Strong Python and SQL skills for data analysis modeling and working with large datasets.
. Experience with R for statistical or econometric analysis.
. Hands on experience with CECL DFAST/stress testing financial forecasting credit risk modeling or similar financial risk analytics.
. Strong foundation in statistical modeling econometrics predictive analytics and quantitative analysis.
. Experience evaluating model results identifying performance issues and translating analytical findings into business conclusions.
. Familiarity with machine learning techniques; NLP exposure is beneficial.
. Experience working with cloud based data and analytical environments preferably AWS.
. Strong data analysis skills including identifying trends relationships anomalies and key business drivers.
. Experience creating data visualizations and communicating analytical results using Tableau or comparable tools.
. Familiarity with SQL development tools such as DBeaver.
. Experience with source control and collaborative development tools such as Bitbucket.
. Financial services experience strongly preferred particularly in credit risk lending mortgage Multifamily or financial forecasting.
. Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
. Strong stakeholder management problem solving and cross functional collaboration skills.

Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience in Data Science Statistics Economics Applied Mathematics Computer Science Finance or a related discipline.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110100.00 $123200.00.
