Senior Controller

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Controller to lead their accounting operations and provide strategic financial leadership to ownership and senior management.

This is a key leadership position for an accounting professional who can combine strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on management financial analysis and business partnership. The ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee the full accounting function while helping leadership make informed decisions around profitability cash flow investments pricing and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department including Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable payroll bank reconciliations cash forecasting and collections.
  
• Manage mentor support and develop accounting team members including training coaching performance management and productivity oversight.
  
• Establish and maintain effective accounting policies procedures and internal controls to minimize financial and operational risk.
  
• Oversee the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable financial reporting standards.
  
• Provide financial analysis and insights related to productivity operational efficiency capital investments pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
  
• Develop and monitor financial benchmarks and performance metrics to help leadership evaluate business performance.
  
• Partner closely with the CFO/President on cash forecasting financial planning and business strategy.
  
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly bank reconciliations across company accounts.
  
• Support the preparation of company tax returns by providing accurate financial information and documentation.
  
• Work with external auditors and coordinate information required for annual audits.
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable local state and federal financial and regulatory requirements.
  
• Participate in the management and collection of customer receivables and assist with credit-related matters as needed.
  
• Oversee and administer the companys commercial insurance programs excluding employee benefits.
  
• Partner with HR leadership on evaluating employee benefit programs from both quality and cost-effectiveness perspectives.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes systems controls and overall financial efficiency.
  
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor and strategic partner to ownership and senior leadership.
  
• Perform other related duties and special projects as required.
  

What Our Client Is Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
  
• 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  
• Proven experience leading or managing an accounting function and/or accounting team.
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting internal controls and accounting procedures.
  
• Experience with AP AR payroll bank reconciliations cash management and financial reporting.
  
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  
• Excellent management communication organizational and time-management skills.
  
• Strong proficiency with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is highly preferred.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
  
• Experience working directly with company ownership executives or senior leadership is highly valued.
  
• CPA or CMA designation is an asset but not required.
  
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

This is not simply a financial reporting position the Senior Controller will have meaningful involvement in the companys accounting operations and will work closely with the CFO/President and ownership on financial and business decisions.
