Job Summary

Senior Commercial Lender

Our client is seeking an experienced relationship-focused Senior Commercial Lender to join its banking team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established lender to inherit and manage an existing commercial loan portfolio of approximately $30 million while continuing to develop new business and expand the banks presence in the market.

The Senior Commercial Lender will be responsible for managing and growing a diverse portfolio of commercial banking relationships. Responsibilities include originating underwriting structuring and closing commercial loans; assessing credit risk; preparing and presenting loan requests; monitoring portfolio performance; and ensuring loans comply with the banks credit policies and applicable regulations.

This individual will serve as a trusted financial partner to commercial clients developing a strong understanding of their businesses and providing lending and banking solutions that support their goals. The lender will be expected to deepen existing relationships identify cross-selling opportunities generate referrals and build new relationships through business development and community involvement.

The role offers potential leadership opportunities based on the candidates experience and interests. These opportunities may include mentoring and developing other lenders contributing to lending strategy participating in credit and loan committees and taking on broader responsibilities within the commercial banking team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inheriting and managing an established commercial loan portfolio of approximately $30 million
  • Retaining and expanding existing commercial banking relationships
  • Generating new business through referrals networking and community involvement
  • Evaluating borrowers financial condition cash flow collateral and creditworthiness
  • Structuring loan solutions that balance customer needs with prudent risk management
  • Preparing and presenting credit requests for approval
  • Monitoring portfolio quality loan documentation covenant compliance and renewals
  • Identifying deposit treasury management and other banking opportunities
  • Collaborating with credit operations retail banking and executive leadership
  • Providing mentorship and leadership to other members of the lending team
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of commercial lending regulations market conditions and industry trends

Qualified candidates should have significant commercial lending and portfolio-management experience a demonstrated record of business development and strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis and loan structuring. The ideal candidate will possess sound judgment strong communication and relationship-building abilities a commitment to credit quality and the leadership skills necessary to positively influence the lending team and the broader organization.

Compensation will be competitive and based on experience.
