Job Purpose

The Business Analyst Sr is responsible for developing analysis and insights to drive the performance and execution for assigned business. The BA Sr will build a sustainable platform and processes for the business to deliver actionable insights that drive continuous improvement and enhance decision making.

The BA Sr will create ad hoc reports that help the business understand current performance and partner with other departments to resolve any P&L related issues.

The BA Sr will work with both internal and external customers. Systems used will vary but include SFDC SAP SNAP DASH SAC and other Microsoft tools.

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

• Manages weekly monthly and quarterly insights and analysis on business performance for assigned business. Has full ownership of understanding the P&L providing insights on key drivers that are impacting profitability and developing other information/tools for use by management in key business decisions.
• Direct interaction with business unit leadership teams to analyze and improve performance. Also work with leadership on establishing strategic goals and provide status on performance toward those goals.
• Identify root causes and work with support teams to drive resolution of issues with the P&L. Effectively communicate the issue resolution and impact to sales management.
• Lead analysis analytics and ad-hoc requests for the DIY sales team providing key insights to drive decision making.
• Collaborate with data analytics team to provide tools and metrics around KPIs to report to sales organization including dashboard development and maintenance and daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

• Bachelors Degree required preferrably in Accounting Finance Business or related field; MBA Preferred.
• Data management and analysis skills merging several data sources identifying trends identifying key drivers (Excel Data Visualization tools SAP Reporting tools).
• Experience using Power Query preferred/required
• Strong financial and analytic experience must be able to analyze information and provide recommendations based upon facts analysis and experience. Can tactfully challenge assumptions made by others.
• Able to work in office full time (Lexington KY HQ)

• Strong business acumen and knowledge of business and organization basics. Understanding of current and future trends affecting the business and organization.
• Skilled communicator able to express insights and other information in a clear and concise manner. Able to adapt communication to the level of the audience.
• Well organized and detail oriented
