The Senior Automation Test Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below:

Location: 100% Remote. This is a United States based position and candidates must reside in the continental United States to be eligible for employment.

Years Experience: 7 years professional experience

Education: Bachelors degree in IT related field

Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance preferred. IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the Department of War. This agency handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Position Overview

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer at IBR you will play a key role in designing and implementing secure next-generation solutions that support critical missions. As a member of our program supporting the U.S. Navy you will collaborate with technical leaders business stakeholders and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure solutions are scalable secure and forward-thinking while remaining aligned with organizational and program goals. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to technical strategy within a dynamic mission-driven and customer focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design develop and execute system level test procedures in an Agile environment ensuring the system meets the complex functional performance and latency requirements.
• Build scale and maintain a robust maintainable test automation framework using Playwright and Cucumber to validate web applications and APIs.
• Design develop and execute complex automated software test plans in order to identify and address user problems and causes.
• Analyze requirements to generate artifacts table and test approach for automated test scripts development.
• Review testing documentation develop testing standards define criteria for testing analyze test results and present results to developers and end users.
• Develop and execute test scenarios scripts and procedures for unit process function system integration and acceptance testing.
• Evaluate the test basis and support the refinement of requirements to ensure testability clarity and correctness.
• Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
• Conduct test design activities to identify and create test cases (positive and negative) traceable to system requirements.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project roadmap or delivery dates
• Participate in product design reviews providing input on functional requirements product designs schedules or potential problems
• Assist in the creation of software test plans to document the overall test strategy test approach test process test schedule pass/fail criteria test environment architecture test lab resources.
• Take ownership of setting up configuring and maintaining dedicated infrastructure servers and test environments from scratch to support high-performance automation execution.
• Deploy manage and configure automated test suites to run directly on internal staging servers or distributed grid nodes ensuring stable headless execution and reliable artifact/report collection.
• Analyze risk identifiers and develop documentation addressing software defect diagnostics and proposed solutions.
• Provide support for test readiness reviews formal system verification of the requirements.
• Work closely with software developers engineers business analysts and requirements personnel to plan coordinate and execute static analysis and dynamic testing of systems/software code to verify validate acceptance and technical specifications.
• Work with Atlassian tool suites including JIRA Zephyr etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in IT related field
• 7 years professional test engineering experience
• Must be able to obtain and maintain up to a Secret security clearance. Active Secret security clearance preferred
• Experience with developing software test plans test cases and test scripts
• Automation Testing experience required
  • Selenium MS Playwright Cucumber Cypress TestNG JUnit or other automation testing frameworks/tools
  • LoadRunner and other manual testing tools experience
• Proficient in designing and executing end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright paired with Cucumber
• Demonstrate expertise with Java and JavaScript with Selenium WebDriver in a Data Driven and/or behavior driven Framework.
• Experience with automation functional and regressing testing procedures and ability to review new requirements and UI flows while preparing new test case scenarios.
• Experience designing writing testing and documenting efficient testing solutions to meet customer needs.
• Experience with User Interface Acceptance Testing backend testing software testing
• Experience with API Testing using Postman (manual) and Rest-Assured (automation) or comparable tools.
• Proven experience provisioning configuring and maintaining infrastructure servers (Linux) or cloud instances to serve as standalone test environments.
• Experience in all or some of the following programming platform a plus:
  • Linux and Bash scripting
  • Java and JavaScript frameworks in HTML5/CSS3 context (AngularJS jQuery D3)
  • RESTful APIs/JSON
  • SQL
• Strong understanding of networking permissions and server configurations (e.g. managing dependencies setting up execution nodes and environment variables) required to support test execution.
• Experience working in DevOps setting (i.e. GitHub Jenkins Maven JIRA etc.) preferred
• Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration including one or more of the following:
  • Jenkins Maven Jira Git/GitHub/GitBash/Stash/Bitbucket
• Knowledge of other testing tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner a bonus
• Ability to assess software products for readiness and determine pass/fail criteria.
• Ability to determine test approaches develop test schedules and identify risks associated with testing.
• Ability to capture test data analyze test results and clearly communicate (orally and written) findings and/or deficiencies.
• Knowledge of the principles practices and procedures of quality assurance testing automation
• Experience with all phases of the SDLC as it applies to software testing activities.
• Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High energy; ability to manage time in a dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Should be a team-player quick learner proactive and have a positive attitude.

Salary Range: $85000.00 - $130000.00 USD annually.

This salary range represents the anticipated range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications experience work location internal equity and business needs.
