Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Software Engineer who is responsible for designing developing and maintaining space command and control (C2) systems software. The Software Engineer will work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and assess software interfaces operational performance requirements and overall system design. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is located in Colorado Springs CO.

Essential Functions:

• Participating in all phases of the software development life cycle creating software test procedures developing software programs preparing related documentation conducting peer reviews identifying tracking and resolving software defects
• Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas
• Collaborate effectively with small teams of software engineers
• Develop software as a Java full stack engineer

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

• Ability to obtain a Security Certification in less than 60 days

• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance
• At least 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on Java full stack development

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledgeable in the full software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to deployment
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Strong organization of open software tasks
• Understanding of software engineering principles and industry best practices including Agile development
• Ability to work in a team environment to potentially include duties in other technical disciplines
• Experience with Apache NiFi
• Experience with RabbitMQ message broker
• Experience with relational databases
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming
• Familiarity with source code repositories (e.g. GitLab)
• Experience with agile development tools (e.g. Jira Confluence)
• Understanding of containerization and developing/deploying in containerized environments
• Knowledge of Tanzu and Docker

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $74500-$138500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
