Job Summary

Performs day-to-day accounts payable operations across Enterprise Accounting & Payable Services ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments while providing responsive support to internal and external stakeholders. Assists with the execution of complex transactions and supporting system processes. This role supports operational efficiency through effective communication documentation and participation in cross-training and process improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Execute day-to-day transactional processing with a focus on complex high-value and non-routineaccountspayable transactions with a high degree of and resolvesescalated invoice discrepancies payment issues and vendorinquiries.
  • Performs account reconciliations andresearchdiscrepancies resolving issues and escalating as transactions ensuringaccurateandtimelygeneral ledger recordings and resolves discrepancies and vendor inquiries while preparing journal entities andmaintainingsupporting documentation foraccuratefinancial reporting.
  • Maintains and analyzes complex transaction records reconciliations process documentation and supporting financial data to ensure general ledger integrity support financial reporting strengthen internal controls andfacilitateaudit and remediation activities.
  • Perform a broad range of accounting activities andresolveroutine accounting and control issues by applying established accounting policies procedures and internal and escalates issues requiring professional judgement or cross-functional coordination.
  • Provides support during system upgrades and enhancements by executing sample invoice and payment batches to confirm end-to-end process andescalatediscrepancies or processing issuesidentifiedduring testing.
  • Monitors andmanagesshared inboxes and departmental communications responding to routine and moderately complex or escalation of requests andmaintainsaccuratetracking ofinquiriesto support service levels.
  • Participate in the rotation of responsibilities across the team to ensure adequate coveragemaintainbusiness continuity and support a flexible cross-trained accounting core processes and follows established procedures to support consistent execution.
  • Applies working knowledge ofaccountspayable processes transaction flows and supporting systems to accurately process transactions and resolve routine upstream and downstream impacts of transactions andmonitorskey metrics tomaintainservice levels and processing quality.
  • Recognizes recurring issues and process inefficiencies within assigned areas and provides input to support improvement implementing process changes and adopting updated procedures.
  • Supports the preparation of monthly KPI reports and risk indicators by compiling datamaintainingsupporting documentation executing established controls andidentifyingexceptions for escalation.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates degree in Finance Accounting Mathematics Business Administration or other related course of study
  • Minimum 3 years equivalent work experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to management multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external business partners whether remotely or in person.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a shared services or highvolume processing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with a broad range of stakeholders delivering concise clear and timely responses.

Additional Information


  • This position allows a flexible work arrangement meaning you may work on-site and/or remotely from the Minneapolis MN or Appleton WI area. Starting in February 2027 we would be looking for this person to come into one of our corporate offices 2 times per month.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $24.06 - $32.56 per hour which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to location relevant experience skills and knowledge business needs market demand and other factors Thrivent deems important.
