Job Summary
Senior Accountant
A fast-growing technology/manufacturing firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join their Finance this role you will partner closely with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting strong internal controls and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This position plays a critical role in supporting their high-growth manufacturing-driven business and offers meaningful exposure to operations audits and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries account reconciliations and balance sheet schedules.
- Perform general ledger accounting including fixed assets prepaids accruals deferred revenue and expense reporting.
- Conduct balance sheet and income statement analysis; investigate and resolve variances.
- Support cost accounting activities including inventory accounting reconciliations and analysis (manufacturing environment).
- Partner with business operations and cross-functional teams to strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.
- Document monitor and improve internal controls; identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and automation.
- Assist with external audits due diligence and compliance requests by preparing schedules and coordinating with auditors and external partners.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Mentor and review the work of junior accounting staff providing guidance and feedback.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- 35 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience (Big Four or national firm) strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions (e.g. pivot tables lookups).
- Experience with ERP or financial management systems (e.g. NetSuite SAP Oracle QuickBooks).
- Cost accounting inventory control and analysis experience is a plus.
- CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail analytical skills and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
