About the Team:

The AlphaSense Finance team is responsible for efficiently driving the creation of enterprise value by supporting capital allocation decisions across the business. We exist to help the company make intelligent data-driven decisions through financial analysis; scenario modeling; tracking interpreting and disseminating key performance indicators; and by serving as a critical thought partner to senior leadership.

About the Role:

The Senior Accountant will own key areas of the monthly close including COGS cost allocations and various accruals. You will work as part of a growing team at a well-funded growth-stage pre-IPO tech company with significant opportunities for rapid career advancement.

• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably at a SaaS or technology company
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with a Big 4 or public accounting firm preferred
• A self starter who can operate independently and manage multiple deadlines during a fast-paced month end close process
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to partner with FP&A and other stakeholders
• Advanced excel skills required
• Working knowledge of US GAAP including accrual accounting multi-entity and intercompany accounting
• Exposure to usage-based or technology vendor costs a plus
• Hands on experience with NetSuite and FloQast or similar ERP and close management tool preferred

What Youll Do:

• Ensure timely and accurate income statement recognition in accordance with US GAAP
• Own key areas of the monthly COGS close including cost allocations and related accruals
• Prepare monthly accruals and reversals for content technology and other vendor costs
• Maintain COGS summary analysis for manager review
• Prepare intercompany entries and reclasses across multiple entities
• Reconcile accrued expense and payable accounts and prepare flux explanations for the monthly close review
• Prepare journal entries in conformity with established procedures
• Prepare and review analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts
• Prepare month end journal entries and support the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate monthly reconciliation of accounts for the various entities under the AlphaSense umbrella
• Liaise closely with internal departments to ensure all monthly transactions are properly booked
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
• Ability to identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities including AI-enabled workflows to drive positive change across the organization
• Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects
• Assist with audit requests (Quarterly/Annual Audit Stat Audit and Sales Tax Audit)
