Security Training Specialist

Job Summary
The Security Training Specialist is responsible for assessing the Security training needs while developing and overseeing the delivery of the Security training programs. The role will also be responsible for developing strategies to achieve the Security department goals by providing awareness initiatives throughout the System. This role will report to the Director Security Training Center.
Responsibilities
Responds to non-hospital properties to conduct risk assessments investigations provide threat management support and serve as security officer whenever there is a patient-based threat
Purchases and issues all approved equipment and uniforms for all uniformed Security Officers.
Assists in developing and delivers Security training materials and programs/courses to include classroom self-studies computer-based and web-based training as appropriate.
Interfaces with security leadership team throughout the system to identify training and education needs of the security team.
Provides reports to senior security leadership on completed training readiness of employees and effectiveness of training. Makes recommendations for training curriculum improvements.
In collaboration with security management evaluates security staffs training needs to ensure compliance with training protocols and department policies and procedures.
As directed by senior security leadership reviews Use of Force incidents to ensure consistency with policy procedures and department training.
Monitors the training program to ensure security staff competency in all aspects of their job responsibilities.
Provide administrative and logistical support for training programs and professional development initiatives.
Assist in coaching and assessing performance of security field training officer staff.
Participates with the hiring and onboarding process for new security personnel.
Assist in reviewing and updating department policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Experience: 6 years of staff development training
or teaching experience 2 years of experience in security/law enforcement required.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Licensure/Certification: CHPA or other IAHSS certification / CPP or similar security certification and valid drivers license upon job entry and Louisiana or Mississippi drivers license within 90 days of job entry.
