Security Officer Armed Recruit

Sentara Health is hiring a Security Officer Armed - Recruit for Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton VA. This is a Full-Time position with a rotating schedule.

Hours

• Monday through Friday the Security staff works three shifts: 7am - 3:30pm 3pm - 11:30pm and 11pm - 7:30am.

• Over the weekends there may be a 12-hour and a 4-hour shift.

• New hires are asked to be flexible to start and to move to a regular schedule.

• Schedules are set to match the two-week pay period with most Officers working part of their 40 hours on alternate weekends.

Overview

The Security Officer ArmedRecruitrole is a roledesignatedfor newly hired Security Officers while preparing for successful transition to an Armed Officer the transition period of120 daysall training andrequiredcertifications will be completed to allow them to progress to an Armed Security Officer primary function of this transitional role is to further develop the necessary skills training and certificationsrequiredto carry a weapon and function as a fully Armed Security Officer.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent(Required)

Certification/Licensure

• State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current Valid Drivers license (Required)

Experience

• 1 year of securitymilitaryor policeexperience (Strongly Preferred)

An offer of employment for aSecurity Officer ArmedRecruitiscontingent on passing the pre-employment screening process which includes a fitness assessment and psychological evaluation. Once the preemployment process is cleared and employmenthasbegun incumbents will have120 daysto successfully complete and obtain other job specific certifications as defined in the job profile. Failure to obtain these certifications within the prescribedtimeframewill result in termination of employment. Annual fitness assessment isrequiredand psychological evaluations arerequiredevery 3 years as a condition of continued employment in this position.
