Schedule: Full Time; Day and Night Shifts (including weekends and holidays as needed)
Must have security guard license
Position Summary:The Security Guard plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents staff and visitors at a transitional housing facility serving families with children. This individual is responsible for monitoring premises enforcing site rules managing entry/exit access and responding to incidents professionally and promptly.
Key Responsibilities:-
Monitor and patrol facility premises including interior and exterior areas to ensure safety and security.

Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized persons and suspicious activity.

Greet and sign in visitors verify authorization and manage access to the facility.

Complete incident reports and daily activity logs accurately and on time.

Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining a respectful and calm demeanor.

Respond to emergencies disturbances or any security threats according to protocol.

Collaborate with on-site staff including case managers maintenance and operations personnel.

Communicate with local law enforcement or emergency personnel when necessary.

Ensure security equipment (radios cameras etc.) is functioning properly.

Monitor resident curfews and perform routine checks during night shifts.

Conduct bag checks or screenings if required by site policy.

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid New York State Security Guard License is required.

Minimum 1 year of experience in security preferably in a residential or social service setting.

Ability to work night and day shifts weekends and holidays.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally.

Basic report writing and computer skills.

CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position involves standing and walking for extended periods and exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor patrols. The work requires attentiveness and may involve occasional conflict resolution.
