Sector Security Director – Intelligence Sector

Job Summary
Leidos has an immediate opening for a Sector Security Director to lead the Leidos Intelligence Sector enterprise security organization in Reston Virginia.
This position is responsible for envisioning and aligning securitys contribution to the Intelligence Sectors strategic growth objectives and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the Intelligence Community and DoD and its associated industrial regulatory framework with the demonstrated capability to align those competencies to support business growth in Intelligence analysis and operations applied tradecraft and systems development and modernization. The Sector Security Director also serves as a strategic advisor to the Sector President and operations staff for personnel security clearance reform and clearance and classified facility reciprocity and growth enablement.
- Understand the vision and direction of the Intelligence Sector President; formulate execute and oversee plans and objectives to support that direction; integrate plans at the strategic and operational level of the supported organization.
- Lead manage and direct subordinate and matrixed security staff in support of Intelligence Sector business objectives while aligning the overall security effort with the broader Leidos security enterprise; measure performance and develop the organization including staff professional competencies.
- Develop innovative approaches to solve complex and novel challenges consistent with corporate and customer risk appetite while maintaining excellence in regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Actively manage threats to and vulnerabilities within the Intelligence Sector in conjunction with Corporate Insider Risk Management Emergency Management Counterintelligence and International Security programs.
- Implement and provide guidance to management on security issues such as security education classified document control security investigations classification control classified construction standards and personnel clearances.
- Direct the analysis of security breaches and disciplinary actions related to security violations and incidents within the Intelligence Sector; prepare findings reports and implement remediation and risk mitigations consistent with those findings.
- Directs activities that have a significant impact on the achievement of results for the security function and across the Intelligence Sector; frequently influences leadership decisions.
- Decisions within the function and advice to leadership drive long-term success profitability and growth through security infrastructure and cleared personnel planning.
- Establishes and implements strategic and operational plans and associated budgets for the security department and Intelligence Sector operational functions with significant impact on the overall Leidos enterprise security organization.
- Work requires a high degree of creative and critical thinking and independent coordinated action with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for results.
- Problems and issues faced are complex unique to circumstance and customer preferences and require consideration of variables with enterprise-wide impact.
- Conducts extensive investigation and analysis to understand root causes factoring in customer requirements national security responsibilities and business exigencies.
- Problems are highly complex and typically involve multiple functions projects or customers in a multi-agency regulatory environment.
- Communicates and negotiates with senior management officials within and outside of Leidos on matters of strategic importance.
- Prepares and delivers succinct executive briefings and correspondence reducing complex issues to actionable recommendations delivered with credibility and impact.
- Negotiates with and influences others to understand and accept new concepts practices and approaches.
- Communicates and collaborates across the broader Leidos Security team to ensure sharing of ideas best practices and regulatory and policy updates.
- Manages organizations that encompass multiple teams led by managers and supervisors.
- Develops mid- to long-term plans for optimizing the Intelligence Sector and the talent required to execute strategies for the job area.
- Hires terminates promotes and rewards performance in accordance with organizational guidelines.
- In-depth management and leadership knowledge to lead teams and manage across multiple functions within Leidos.
- In-depth knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
- Advanced business knowledge of Intelligence Sector support functions with advanced management and leadership capability.
- Working knowledge of supporting merger and acquisition activities and associated organizational integration tasks.
- Broad practical experience across multiple security professional disciplines combining theory past practical experience and organizational business practices.
- BA/BS degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 12 years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects in progressively challenging assignments at least one functionally equivalent to this position.
- Demonstrated mastery of executive-level briefings and prior experience managing organizational budgets and large projects.
- Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
