Secret-Cleared Mechanical Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Mechanical Engineer in Tucson Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support the design development production transition and production support of critical mechanical hardware used in advanced defense systems. The engineer will work across mechanical design system integration manufacturing support and program execution while collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams.

• STEM degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 510 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience supporting mechanical hardware from concept definition through detailed design.
• Experience transitioning hardware designs into production.
• Experience providing engineering support to manufacturing and production organizations.
• Hands-on experience with 3D CAD design tools.
• Experience using product data management tools.
• Strong mechanical hardware design experience.
• Experience supporting system-level integration activities.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical assignments.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance required to start.

• Experience designing and integrating electronic assemblies.
• Experience with shelter or enclosure assemblies.
• Experience with power-distribution equipment packaging.
• Experience supporting fabrication and integration of mechanical hardware.
• Experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams.
• Demonstrated technical leadership.
• Experience supporting defense or aerospace hardware development and production.

• Lead mechanical hardware design and development activities.
• Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through detailed implementation.
• Support hardware transition from engineering development into production.
• Provide technical support for production and manufacturing issues.
• Create and maintain mechanical designs using 3D CAD tools.
• Support product data and configuration activities using engineering data-management systems.
• Collaborate with electrical systems manufacturing and other engineering disciplines.
• Support integration of mechanical hardware into larger systems.
• Resolve technical issues affecting hardware development and production.
• Coordinate technical activities across engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Support program execution schedule objectives and production needs.
• Provide technical leadership as required based on project needs.

• Full-time onsite in Tucson Arizona.
• First shift.
• 40 hours per week.

• $72.35 per hour.
