Job Description:
This role will help define and mature signal- and mission-processing capabilities for evolving multi-mission payload architectures. The engineer will apply signal-processing expertise including algorithm design detection and estimation sensor fusion data association geolocation and tracking and on-orbit edge processing to support development integration verification and operational readiness. This is an on-site opportunity in Palm Bay Florida supporting the Agile Missions portfolio.
Essential Functions:
- Define signal- and mission-processing architectures functional flows requirements interfaces and verification strategies for multi-mission payloads.
- Analyze design and develop signal-processing algorithms for time-frequency analysis detection estimation and optimization.
- Develop multi-sensor fusion data-association target-geolocation and tracking approaches for multi-mission architectures.
- Build and use models and simulations to assess algorithm payload and mission-processing performance including latency resource use and operational impact.
- Collaborate with payload field-programmable gate array firmware software systems integration and test teams to allocate requirements resolve interfaces and transition algorithms to programmable logic or embedded software.
- Support integration verification validation anomaly resolution and technical-risk closure across the product lifecycle.
- Produce technical analyses and supporting artifacts for internal and customer reviews; brief results risks and decisions to program stakeholders.
- This position is based on-site in Palm Bay Florida; travel may be required with the percentage to be determined based on business needs.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics or an equivalent technical discipline and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access as required
- Demonstrated expertise in digital signal processing and communications theory including algorithm development and implementation in firmware or software.
- Experience in systems engineering or a related engineering role supporting aerospace space or multi-mission payload architectures.
- Depth in one or more of the following: array signal processing including geolocation and direction finding; statistical signal processing including detection and estimation theory; radar signal processing including electronic protection and space-time or space-frequency adaptive processing; modern communications systems including low-probability-of-intercept/low-probability-of-detection anti-jam anti-scintillation wireless or cellular or high-Doppler-rate communications; electronic warfare or electronic attack; or machine learning neural networks or artificial intelligence.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience designing or evaluating on-board or edge-processing solutions using field-programmable gate arrays/SDRs systems on a chip graphics processing units artificial-intelligence accelerators or multi-rate fixed-point digital signal-processing architectures.
- Programming and modeling proficiency using MATLAB Simulink Python C or C.
- Experience collaborating across systems payload firmware software integration and test disciplines to transition algorithms to implementation.
- Experience supporting multi-mission payload architectures and evolving mission-processing pipelines.
