SCIENTIFIC PROJECT MANAGER (SPM) TSAI LAB The Picower Institute for Learning and Memory (PILM) to plan write and manage white paper proposal and grant applications submitted to a diverse range of private and public funding sources including philanthropic individuals private foundations and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the laboratory of Professor Li-Huei Tsai Founding Investigator of the Aging Brain Initiative (ABI) and the Director of the Alana Down Syndrome Research Center (ADSC). This role is also central in managing post-award reporting obligations and supporting researchers in effectively communicating their work to funders and stakeholders. The SPMs portfolio will include proposal applications presentations and reports for the Tsai lab the ABI the ADSC and the Neuro-Therapeutics De-risking effort a translational effort designed to increase the transition of market competitive research advances toward real-world impact in neuroscience and brain health. The SPM will also provide support in the development and management of Alana Down Syndrome Center scientific and outreach programs. The Tsai lab is an approximately forty-member lab that conducts research investigating the molecular- circuit- and systems-level basis of neurological disorders that impact learning and memory. Model systems include transgenic mice human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models and human brain samples. Multidisciplinary approaches are employed including in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology and neurocircuitry mapping neurobehavioral testing biochemistry and immunohistochemistry large-scale imaging epigenomic and transcriptomic approaches and computational analysis of big data using machine learning.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in Biology/Neuroscience/Bioengineering or related fields; a minimumof fiveyears related experience; proven writing skills with attention to detail both in a narrative style for research proposals reports and manuscripts as well as a presentational style for talks and seminars; skilled at analyzing and communicating (written and verbal) scientific information across different topic areas at a level of detail appropriate for different audiences (scientific to lay friendly); ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines; versatility flexibility and a willingness to work with multiple priorities; ability to work both independently and collaboratively; and the interpersonal skills necessary to promote collaboration and cooperation among teams and other leading laboratories. PREFERRED: Experience in writing successful proposals for philanthropic funding and grant applications with effective administration of awards.
