Job Summary

Sacred Heart Universitys School of Social Work in the College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to contribute expertise in research teaching and doctoral mentorship to our Ph.D. in Social Work program. Teaching opportunities may be online or on-ground based on program School of Social Work emphasizes individualized learning close faculty engagement and personalized advisement within a social justice framework grounded in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. The doctoral program brings this approach to advanced study in research teaching and leadership serving working professionals who bring practical experience and questions from the field to their an Adjunct Instructor you will bring your expertise in research methods and analysis to the development of emerging social work scholars. Through teaching and dissertation mentorship you will help students turn meaningful questions into well-designed research advance to candidacy and produce scholarship that contributes to social work knowledge and practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with doctoral students at pivotal stages of their development while collaborating with faculty committed to their Responsibilities:Provide a learning environment welcoming to all instruction in the PhD programMentor PhD students and coordinate the advancement to candidacy through the dissertation and collaborate with fellow and participate in PhD student summer an active research agenda aligned with the Schools :MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and a PhD in social work social welfare or a closely related of two years post-MSW social work practice of five years post commitment to anti-racist anti-oppressive pedagogy research and of teaching excellence especially in quantitative research methods statistical analysis and mixed with doctoral education and GADE standards.A strong commitment to Instructions:Letter of interest (including a statement of research agenda)Curriculum vitaeStatement of teaching philosophyOne peer-reviewed publication (as a sample of scholarship)Graduate transcripts (copies acceptable at this stage)Upon offer of employment the selected candidate will be required to provide one formal letter of recommendation on professional letterhead and an official transcript reflecting their highest earned will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
