Job Summary
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Scheduling Coordinator (CWR) to support specialty outpatient programs in Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension. This role is responsible for coordinating patient scheduling front desk operations and providing high-level administrative support in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare front office or medical administrative setting strong communication skills and the ability to manage high call volumes efficiently. Experience with Epic EMR and cardiology or specialty clinic workflows is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and manage front desk operations in a professional and courteous manner
Complete patient check-in including verification of demographic and insurance information
Answer screen and route incoming calls; take accurate messages when necessary
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments procedures and follow-ups
Provide patients with post-visit instructions including testing and next steps
Coordinate pre-procedure requirements such as medical clearances and diagnostic testing
Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations when required
Communicate effectively with physicians clinical staff and other departments
Track patient appointments procedures and related documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the system
Ensure excellent customer service and patient experience at all times
Follow HIPAA regulations organizational policies and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare front desk or medical office setting
Strong data entry and multitasking abilities
Experience handling high call volume environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic EMR system
Background in cardiology pulmonology or specialty clinics
Knowledge of medical terminology CPT/ICD-10 coding or surgical scheduling workflows
Experience working in a hospital or large healthcare system
