SAP IS-U BPEM Exception Management Functional SME

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior SAP IS-U BPEM Exception Management Functional SME with strong hands-on functional expertise in SAP IS-U and Business Process Exception Management (BPEM). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in the utility industry particularly around exception management billing meter-to-cash processes and resolution of business process exceptions.

The consultant will be responsible for analyzing business process exceptions defining and configuring BPEM cases identifying root causes improving exception-handling processes and working closely with business and technical teams to ensure timely resolution of critical utility business issues.

The role requires a strong understanding of SAP IS-U business processes BPEM framework exception monitoring case management prioritization and integration with key IS-U processes such as Billing Invoicing Meter Reading Device Management Customer Service Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA) and Move-In/Move-Out.

Required Skills & Experience

8 years of SAP IS-U functional experience with strong utility industry knowledge.

Strong hands-on experience with SAP IS-U BPEM (Business Process Exception Management).

Proven experience as a BPEM Functional SME / Exception Management SME.

Strong understanding of utility Meter-to-Cash (M2C) business processes.

Experience analyzing categorizing prioritizing and resolving SAP IS-U business process exceptions.

Strong knowledge of SAP IS-U functional modules/processes including:

Billing

Invoicing

Meter Reading

Device Management

Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA)

Move-In / Move-Out

Customer Service

Payments and Collections

Experience configuring BPEM exception types case categories priorities processors and related processing mechanisms.

Strong understanding of exception monitoring and operational support processes.

Experience working with utility companies or utility implementations involving electric gas water or energy services.

Ability to investigate complex business process failures and determine functional root causes.

Strong experience translating business requirements into SAP IS-U functional solutions.

Experience preparing functional specifications and working with technical development teams.

Strong understanding of SAP IS-U integration points and end-to-end business processes.

Experience with SAP implementation enhancement production support or transformation projects.

Excellent troubleshooting analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SAP S/4HANA Utilities and/or SAP IS-U.

Experience supporting large-scale utility implementations or transformation programs.

Knowledge of SAP FI-CA and integration with IS-U.

Knowledge of SAP EDM AMI Device Management and Meter Data Management processes.

Experience with high-volume utility billing and exception management environments.

Familiarity with SAP IS-U master data and technical objects.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

Experience coordinating with offshore/onshore functional and technical teams.

Strong experience in production support and incident management.
