Job Summary

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation staff to ensure a clean safe and compliant environment across non-production areas including break rooms offices and restrooms. This role oversees daily cleaning operations enforces sanitation standards and supports a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise schedule and assign daily tasks to sanitation technicians

Ensure all break rooms offices restrooms and common areas meet company cleanliness and sanitation standards

Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance

Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to sanitation staff on procedures safety and chemical handling

Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as needed

Ensure proper use storage and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance)

Address employee concerns performance issues and attendance in alignment with company policies

Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve facility-related issues

Support deep cleaning special projects and preparation for audits or leadership visits

Maintain documentation of cleaning schedules inspections and corrective actions

Promote and enforce all safety policies including PPE usage and hazard communication

Requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certifications in facilities sanitation or safety preferred

25 years of custodial/sanitation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

1 year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals equipment and OSHA safety standards

Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand walk bend and lift up to 40 lbs regularly

Ability to perform and demonstrate cleaning tasks as needed

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment

Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise dust and varying temperatures

May require flexible scheduling including evenings or weekends
