Position Overview
The Sales Intern will participate in a structured hands-on internship program designed to provide exposure to key functions within the Sales organization including Inside Sales Field Sales Customer Service and Commercial Excellence. During this 10-week program interns will gain practical experience through work assignments job shadowing product training site visits customer engagement activities and a business impact project to develop skills critical for success as a future sales professional.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in business-impacting work experiences across multiple functions of the sales organization to build an understanding of products applications customers and industry trends.
Complete a minimum of 40 hours of customer-facing engagements and observation.
Lead a sales-focused project that delivers measurable business value; define project objectives and scope perform research and analysis on the project focus area(s) and develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
Deliver a final presentation summarizing project recommendations outcomes and key learnings.
Conduct market research perform territory and sales analyses and execute account development activities.
Support CRM management opportunity tracking quoting processes and sales reporting.
Assist with customer engagement sales activities and account growth initiatives.
Complete product training technical learning engagements and professional development activities.
Participate in networking and mentorship opportunities and establish a professional network of key contacts.
Maintain a weekly reflection journal and complete self-assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Sales Engineering or a related field.
Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week during the internship period.
Strong problem-solving analytical and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivating with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and stay organized.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to be located in Milwaukee WI for the duration of the internship.
Willingness to travel locally as required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Exposure to or familiarity with CRM tools.
Interest in pursuing a career in industrial sales distribution or business development.
Demonstrated leadership within student organizations volunteer activities or work experience.
