We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist for a temporary second-shift assignment at a sawmill in New Albany MS. This position will support an equipment upgrade by providing on-site safety oversight responding to incidents and assisting employees with maintaining a safe work environment.

The Safety Specialist will work directly on the sawmill production floor but will not operate equipment. The ideal candidate will have previous safety experience in a sawmill lumber operation or heavy manufacturing environment and be comfortable working with production employees and management in an industrial setting.

• Provide on-site safety oversight throughout the second-shift production operation.
• Monitor the work environment to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Respond to workplace incidents injuries and safety concerns as they arise.
• Support employees and supervisors in maintaining safe work practices and following established safety procedures.
• Conduct safety observations and help identify opportunities to prevent workplace injuries.
• Reinforce compliance with applicable safety regulations company policies and procedures.
• Communicate safety concerns and corrective actions to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining a safe working environment during the equipment upgrade.

• Previous experience in occupational safety preferably in a sawmill lumber or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience working directly with production employees in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices hazard identification and incident response.
• Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and communicate corrective actions effectively.
• Strong communication observation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on a production floor in a sawmill environment.
• Dependable professional and comfortable working independently during second shift.

• Pay: $34.00$36.00 per hour depending on experience.
• Schedule: MondayFriday 1:00 PM 9:30 PM subject to confirmation.
• Location: New Albany Mississippi.
• Duration: Approximately 510 weeks with potential for extension based on project needs.
• Assignment Type: Temporary contract supporting an equipment upgrade.
