Summary:
Methode Electronics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Safety Intern to support environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives across the organization. This internship provides hands-on experience in sustainability reporting safety training development learning management systems and EHS process improvement. The intern will work closely with Environmental Health & Safety professionals to enhance compliance employee engagement and operational excellence while gaining exposure to corporate sustainability and workplace safety programs. This role is ideal for students interested in occupational safety environmental compliance engineering and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Support utility data collection validation and aggregation activities to improve environmental reporting and sustainability metrics.
- Assist with greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions tracking reporting and process standardization efforts across facilities.
- Help centralize and streamline environmental and safety-related data management processes.
- Develop update and maintain safety training materials presentations and educational resources.
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration including training assignments record maintenance and compliance tracking.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of visitor management processes and site safety protocols.
- Conduct research on safety environmental and regulatory requirements to support compliance initiatives.
- Analyze safety and environmental data to identify trends opportunities and improvement actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support EHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in safety audits inspections training activities and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Safety & Health Environmental Engineering Engineering Environmental Science Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong interest in workplace safety environmental sustainability regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and organize data.
- Experience with data analysis reporting or sustainability metrics is preferred.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training administration is a plus.
- Experience using AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot ChatGPT Claude or similar technologies to support data analysis reporting content creation and process improvement is preferred.
- Strong communication organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated collaborative and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
