Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
Familiarity with the tools machines and equipment used in the workplace
Attention to detail
Critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to teach others the established safety standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industry
Ability to work well as a team member and interact with different groups of people
Conduct reviews of health and safety programs and protocols and document essential changes.
Ability to train supervisors managers and other leaders in the company in terms of health and safety standards
Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for onsite employees.
Ensure compliance with OSHA federal and state regulations
Conducting risk assessments to gather information on safety issues
Verifying that employees consistently follow safety protocols via walkthroughs and observations
Analyzing health and safety data to ensure repeat incidents do not occur
Reviewing and recommending changes to routine HSE activities to ensure professional development
Input employee training & compliance data in Safety management system.
Conduct new hire orientation for incoming employees & contractor employees (as needed).
Ability to conduct environmental sampling for testing.
Collaborate to with Maintenance Scheduler to ensure all HSE related work orders are completed in the established time frame.
Provide First Aid as necessary to injured employees.
Ensure required inventory of HSE materials and supplies provided by vendor are readily available.
Prepare assign and send out safety audits to leaders throughout facility.
Coordinate vendors for HSE compliance activities.
Assist in review of new / relocated equipment assessments and procedures.
Comply with all safety standards. Remain focused on safety throughout the shift and perform all work in a safe manner without taking shortcuts. Report injuries immediately to your supervisor and any potential safety hazards observed.
Comply with all quality standards. Produce quality product by not accepting defective material into work center not making defective products at workstation not passing defects to internal customers and by reporting potential quality issues.
Comply with all sanitation standards. Practice good sanitation and housekeeping practicing to maintain the appearance and condition of the operating facility.
Position Requirements:
Minimum of 1-3 years of safety experience; experience in safety for manufacturing industry preferred.
High School diploma/GED required; degree preferred.
OSHA 30 Certification (Preferred)
Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
Strong time management skills
Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Access in particular)
Above average communication skills.
Presentation skills & public speaking skills.
Pay: $27.76
