Were looking for amid-level Rust Software Engineerto build and optimize high-performance software supportingsimulation optimization and decision supportin mission-focused environments.
Youll work in a large production Rust codebase alongside researchers and engineers turning complex algorithms and research intoreliable performant software. The role spans backend services databases frontend applications and supporting infrastructure making it a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and seeing research become operational capability.
- Develop and maintain production software in a largeRust codebase
- Design and optimize performance-sensitive algorithms and computational workloads
- Build backend services using technologies such asAxum and Tokio
- Integrate software with databases frontend applications APIs and infrastructure
- Collaborate with researchers engineers and end users to translate complex technical concepts into practical software
- Help evolve research-driven capabilities intoscalable maintainable production systems
- Bachelors degree inComputer Science Mathematics Physics Applied Mathematics or a related technical field
- 3 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience developingproduction-grade performance-sensitive software in Rust
- Experience developing backend services withAxum or similar frameworks
- Experience withasynchronous programming preferably using Tokio
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
- Experience working across the software stack including familiarity withweb application development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with researchers engineers and end users
- U.S. citizenship required
- ACTIVE SECRET Security Clearance
- ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE
- Experience withJava Python TypeScript and/or React
- Experience developing highly optimizedparallel or concurrent software
- Experience withGPU programming or acceleration
- Background working on simulation optimization scientific computing or other computationally intensive applications
