***This is a float pool position based at St Johns Regional but will be required to float to St Johns Pleasant Valley (distance 9 miles) 2309 Antonio Avenue Camarillo CA 93010 ***
St Johns Regional Unit Information
- Unit: 2North - Telemetry
- # beds: 31 beds
- Certs: ACLS BLS NIHSS
- Ratios: 1 to 4
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: Yes - there will either be a shift manager and a resource RN on or a charge nurse and resource RN on at all times charge nurse will not take a patient assignment
- Nurse Aides: Yes typically 2 on for days and one for nights depending on census
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule (nights - Friday Sat Sun and Days - Sat Sun)
- Holidays: yes - one major and one minor
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Tele: Phillips - monitor tech on each unit they will read strip and then RNs will sign off on strip
- Nurses Read Strips: Yes
- Drips: amiodarone cardizem heparin they do not have to titrate
- Vents: No but they may get bipap or cpap
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - on call after hours hospitalist is shared between SJRMC and SJPVH
- IV Team: No
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Shifts: 12 hr shifts 7am-7:30pm 7pm-7:30am no block scheduling
- Floating: Will float to 3North or 2 South and also to SJPVH to work tele or medsurg they could also float to ER to take MS/Tele holds
- Floor specific orientation: 1 shift on home unit and then one of each of other units they will also orient to SJPVH
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: very sick high acuity patient population pneumonia end stage renal disease post cath lab patients respiratory distress CHF COPD
- Additional Notes: Unit is a lot of primary care nursing they do have techs but they get pulled to sit and they may not always have them very limited resources available nurses will be very busy they do have a float pool but currently is very limited. Travelers must have 2-3 years experience travel experience is preferred. They must also have a positive attitude and the heart and compassion to go with it. Nurses MUST have experience with drips. Experience with chest tubes preferred.

- Unit: ACU - Combo of Telemetry medsurg and DOU
- # beds: 50 beds
- Certs: ACLS BLS NIHSS
- Ratios: 1 to 5 medsurg 1 to 4 tele 1 to 3 for DOU
- Charge Nurse: Yes
- Nurse Aides: depends on census
-Tele Monitors: phillips - they do have a monitor tech NURSES MUST BE ABLE TO READ STRIPS
- Do nurses read strips: yes
- Drips: yes - cardizem amoidarone (non-titrating)
- Vents: yes - bipap or cpap DOU will sometime get chronic vents travelers will not work DOU
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - on call after hours hospitalist is shared between SJRMC and SJPVH
- IV Team: No
- RT 24/7: yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: yes
