Job Summary

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a contract assignment in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong emergency nursing skills excellent critical thinking abilities and experience managing a wide range of patient acuity levels.

Schedule
  • Contract assignment

  • 36 hours per week

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week

  • Rotating shifts (days evenings nights as assigned)

  • Must be available to work consecutive weekends as needed

  • Holiday coverage required

Responsibilities
  • Assess prioritize and provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages

  • Perform rapid patient evaluations and initiate appropriate interventions

  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical status

  • Administer medications treatments and emergency procedures according to physician orders and facility protocols

  • Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Assist with trauma cardiac respiratory and other emergency situations

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions

  • Ensure compliance with safety infection control and quality standards

Qualifications
  • Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to contract start

  • Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical care skills

  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume fast-paced environment

Required Certifications
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Preferred Certifications

Candidates with any of the following certifications are highly desired:

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)

  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)

  • ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses)

  • STABLE

  • ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support)

  • Other specialty certifications relevant to emergency nursing practice

Technology
  • Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Additional Information
