Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Rhapsody Developer for a 12-month contract opportunity that is hybrid in Trenton NJ. Youll work closely with clinical technical and product teams to ensure seamless data interoperability between internal and third-party health systems.
What Youll Do
Translate clinical and operational workflows into technical integration solutions
Work with EHR systems (e.g. Epic Cerner) to enable bi-directional data exchange
Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment and monitoring of integrations
Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security (e.g. HIPAA)
Support and optimize existing Rhapsody solutions used by NJ Case Surveillance System related to Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR) Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) and Master Patient Index (MPI)
Develop and maintain HL7 v2 and FHIR-based integration pipelines
Implement and support RESTful FHIR APIs for internal and external use
What Youll Need
Required:
3 years of software development experience in Rhapsody
2 years working with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR and HL7 v2)
Strong experience with Rhapsody (e.g. FastAPI Flask or Django)
Proficient in RESTful API development and integration
Experience parsing and generating JSON XML HL7 v2 messages
Hands-on experience with integration tools
Database skills: SQL (PostgreSQL/Oracle)
Familiarity with healthcare vocabularies: SNOMED CT LOINC ICD-10
Preferred:
Deep understanding of FHIR resources and HL7 v2 messaging
Familiarity with FHIR servers (HAPI FHIR Firely AWS FHIR APIs)
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal state and local standards
Sedentary work involving sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse keyboard and monitor
