Job Summary
We are a full-service HVAC building automation chiller and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.
Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full cost estimates on small to large and complex projects using field job walk information and/or client provided project documents for HVAC retrofit projects.
Actively gather information for each estimating job by talking directly with the account manager the end user the engineering team the estimating team vendors and/or other sources of information.
Ability to interpret field conditions to determine project direction and able to provide costs associated with large scale mechanical retrofits project without the use of drawing plans or specifications.
Interpret customer drawings specifications and requirements were provided for formulating quotation strategies.
Work with estimating engineering and sales departments to analyze customer requirements and develop a winning strategy for every quotation.
Understand and have a working knowledge of the California Mechanical Code and local municipal codes.
Identify optimum cost/availability for equipment materials and labor estimated in the quotation process.
Learn to effectively utilize all estimating documentation and electronic programs in preparation of the bill of material and labor estimate for all quotations.
Complete all documentation on time and in an organized manner consistent with company policies and management directives.
Mechanical engineering degree and equivalent experience.
4 years experience in the estimation of HVAC retrofits or Retrofit field experience.
An overall broad understanding of all types of mechanical systems such as chillers boilers cooling towers primary and secondary piping HVAC ductwork RTU AHU VAVs and VRF.
Self-Starter strong work ethic get the job done attitude and overall TEAM player.
Experience with customer-occupied sites during construction commercial and industrial environments.
Must be fluent with Office Suite (SharePoint Word PowerPoint Excel etc.)
Strong technical writing skills ability to read and interpret RFPs drawings and/or construction plans are required for success.
This position requires strong organizational skills the ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner follow up through order closure and move the project to the operations team.

Compensation Range: $90000 - $120000 per year
