Residential Design Manager

Skillforce has teamed up with a fast growing developer to find a Residential Design Managerin Atlanta GA.

We are seeking an experienced Residential Design Manager to lead the design and selections process for high-end residential construction projects across Georgia and Florida. This role will oversee projects from initial concept through final installation ensuring designs are cohesive buildable budget-conscious and properly documented.

Residential Design Manager Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: Up to $80000
• Location: in person at the Atlanta GA office willing to travel occasionally to FL based projects

Residential Design Manager Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and material selection process from concept through project completion.
• Develop design concepts mood boards vision boards color palettes and client-facing design presentations.
• Select and coordinate interior and exterior finishes fixtures cabinetry lighting appliances hardware flooring tile countertops and other materials.
• Serve as the primary design contact for homeowners and clients leading design meetings showroom visits and selection approvals.
• Create and maintain detailed design books finish schedules selection schedules and related documentation.
• Review architectural and construction plans to identify design conflicts and coordinate design details with architects engineers vendors and project teams.
• Work closely with Preconstruction Purchasing Project Management Sales and vendors to ensure selections align with budget schedule availability and constructability.
• Identify long-lead materials and procurement risks and provide timely alternate recommendations when needed.
• Support construction teams with design-related questions field verification finish reviews substitutions and design punch items.
• Maintain accurate project records revisions approvals and selections within project management systems.
• Travel to jobsites showrooms vendor locations and client meetings throughout Georgia and Florida as needed.

Residential Design Manager Qualifications

• 5 years of residential interior design selections or related construction/design experience.
• Experience with high-end or custom residential construction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential finishes materials fixtures cabinetry lighting and architectural details.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction plans.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Confident client-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects deadlines and client decisions simultaneously.
• Proficiency with design documentation and project management software.
• Willingness to travel between projects and markets as needed.
