Residence Manager

Purpose:The Mishkon IDD Programs at The Jewish Board provide supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. POSITION OVERVIEW:The Residence Manager is responsible for the effective operation of their assigned Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) home(s) or Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) unit(s) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Reporting to the Director of Residential Services the Residence Manager oversees the day-to- day operations and direct care provided to individuals for their assigned homes/units in line with the applicable DOH OPWDD CARF and Jewish Board regulations and standards of care. They directly supervise Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) create and maintain schedules ensure consistent and appropriate program coverage and provide on-call and crisis support. Residence Managers are a critical member of the interdisciplinary team working collaboratively with staff colleagues individuals families and external providers to provide consistent and good quality care to individuals that supports their health safety and individualized life goals and preferences. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Direct supervision of home/unit DSPs that includes consistent scheduled and documented formal individual supervision. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely supervisory weekly home/unit DSP meetings and ensure that staff on all shifts have access to meeting minutes and that meeting days and times are rotated to allow staff on all shifts to in recruiting hiring performance management and termination per regulations and agency ongoing training to direct support professionals and ensure that DSPs have completed required trainings in a timely mentor and train staff toward excellence in service delivery and professional growth utilizing supervision meetings team meetings modeling and time spent with staff on weekly schedule and ensure appropriate program coverage vacation approvals and staff time and attendance including scheduling overtime and per diem staff. Conduct at least one early morning and one late evening site observation weekly in addition to routine daily observations. Conduct at least one overnight and one weekend site observation monthly. Conduct a daily review of MyAvatar (HER system) to ensure timely completion of all required documentation and monitor compliance. May be necessary to participate up to two days per week as part of the staff ratio for coverage and support. Escalade risks and challenges up to program leadership in a timely manner. Person-Centered Care Health & Daily OperationsEnsure the health and safety of both the individuals we support and our staff by implementing and enforcing all internal policies and with QIDAs (ICF)BIS (IRAs) and the Recreational Coordinator to develop and publish a community inclusion and integration calendar. Oversee daily activities excursions and trips ensuring compliance with Sabbath programming and religious customs. Assist with and if necessary drive individuals to medical appointments and community the medical tracker to manage and monitor healthcare appointments. Review schedule and update appointment details and notes. Complete appointment information in the HER systems. Ensure proper use maintenance and availability of individual adaptive equipment dan physical site safety. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (e.g. behavior specialists nurses day program staff) to support individuals well-being and assist with managing behavioral health individuals choice and preferences building on their abilities and skills and is supportive of person-centered staff logs and shift summaries to ensure quality consistency and and review treatment plans individual notes daily logs in the computer and Electronic Health Record HER systems. Compliance Audits & Incident ManagementEnsure compliance with OPWDD OSHA CARF DOH Medicaid and other regulatory and observe monthly fire and assist with internal audits including site observations physical inspections and daily and submit work orders for necessary repairs. Participate in scheduled and unscheduled state audits to ensure the residences meet the requirements of DOH OPWDD and CARF audits and surveys. Oversee timely incident reporting and internal documentation implement recommendations from the collection and ensure accurate entry into the Alltrac compliance guidelines and support the POCA (Plan of Corrective Action) with the ICF department team to implement & Operational OversightDevelop and publish bi-weekly staff schedules and submit a copy to the Program Coordinator and the Director of Residential billing recruitment paperwork e-PAF RTHs petty cash and maintain personal allowance regular communication with families and monthly managerial and IDT meetings. On-Call & Emergency ResponseProvide on-call coverage during after hours weekends and holidays unless exempted with written approval for granted accommodation or ongoing religious to emergency calls within 20 minutes and provide guidance or coverage as staff shortages or absences to maintain minimum required staffing for other managers/residences as required. Other DutiesMust work at least one weekend day per additional responsibilities as assigned to support the programs mission operations and ensure high-quality COMPETENCIES for the position include:Ability to supervise and train and leadership and team building to apply regulatory technology savvyOrganized and meticulousStrong collaborator EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree in human services or a related field preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:Minimum of 3 years working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a residential or human services with OPWDD and DOH regulations and policies strongly preferred.A valid NYS Drivers License -R CPR or AMAP trained and certified preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook); comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (i.e. Zoom Teams) Electronic Health Record (HER) applications.
