Research Assistant
Job Summary
The Research Assistant supports scientific laboratory and research program activities through data collection documentation sample preparation quality review research coordination and general laboratory support.
This position is designed for individuals with backgrounds in biology chemistry molecular biology laboratory science quality control health sciences or related scientific disciplines. The Research Assistant works alongside scientific technical and program teams to support research activities while maintaining accurate records and established quality standards.
Assist with day-to-day research laboratory and project activities under the direction of scientific or program staff
Prepare organize label track and maintain research samples materials reagents and laboratory supplies as applicable
Perform routine laboratory procedures testing measurements or sample preparation according to established protocols and standard operating procedures
Collect enter review and maintain experimental laboratory and research data
Review records and results for accuracy completeness consistency and compliance with established quality requirements
Support quality control activities including documentation review data verification equipment logs and identification of discrepancies
Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks research records databases spreadsheets and project documentation
Assist with chemistry biological or molecular laboratory activities based on assigned projects and individual qualifications
Support preparation of solutions reagents specimens materials and equipment for laboratory or research activities
Assist with inventory management ordering storage and tracking of laboratory materials and supplies
Follow established laboratory safety quality and documentation procedures
Assist with equipment preparation routine maintenance documentation calibration records and laboratory organization
Compile research information and assist with preparation of reports summaries presentations and project documentation
Coordinate research and program activities including scheduling documentation tracking deliverables and communicating project updates
Identify data documentation or process discrepancies and escalate findings to appropriate team members
Collaborate with researchers laboratory personnel quality teams project staff and other cross-functional departments
Perform additional research laboratory quality or program support activities based on project needs
Associate or bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry Molecular Biology Biochemistry Biotechnology Life Sciences Health Sciences Laboratory Science Psychology or a related scientific discipline preferred
Candidates with relevant laboratory quality control research healthcare or technical training may also be considered
12 years of experience in a laboratory research quality control scientific healthcare or program support environment preferred
Basic understanding of scientific or laboratory principles
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
Ability to follow research protocols standard operating procedures and written instructions
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to collect organize review and interpret scientific or research information
Proficiency with standard computer applications and electronic documentation systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
