Job Summary
Technical Specialist Role
This entry-level engineering role requires the ability to independently apply standard engineering techniques procedures and criteria to solve complex power system problems using professional judgment.
Core Responsibilities
- Protection Settings & Analysis: Design and manage protective device settings across multiple manufacturer platforms.
- System Studies & Modeling: Conduct short-circuit analyses coordination studies arc flash assessments and fault investigations using industry-standard simulation software.
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop and review verification reports to ensure alignment with standard regional grid reliability and protection mandates.
- Project Support & Design: Apply engineering standards to design ground grids size transformers perform load flow studies and support system lighting and relaying tasks.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with project engineers and clients to maintain project schedules manage document control systems and occasionally visit field sites.
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong foundation in power system analysis and protection principles.
- Key Skills: Exceptional organization strong computer proficiency high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
