Job Summary

Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Facilitates and provides pastoral and spiritual care and counseling for a designated area or for a clinical service. Plans and conducts religious services. May provide consultation on ethical issues. May provide individual and group counseling sessions and crisis intervention. May develop and facilitate various support groups. Participates in or chairs committees. Assists in planning implementing and evaluating established programs policies and procedures. Assesses and identifies areas for program development and assists in establishing new initiatives. Writes and publishes in professional journals. May teach or lecture by invitation. Prepares and conducts workshops and discussion groups on topics related to pastoral care. Hospital based positions may participate in patient treatment plans and multi-disciplinary rounds. Performs related responsibilities as required.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education; A masters degree in Divinity Theology or a masters level equivalency as required by a specialized spiritual/philosophical/religious group (i.e. Buddhism Judaism Islam Catholicism Humanist Bahai etc..). Ordination license or endorsement by an acknowledged ecclesiastical body or specialized spiritual/philosophical/religious group preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.



ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
