Emergency Department

Baptist Health Corbin Emergency Department (ED) is a Level IV Trauma Designated unit with 28 beds that provides comprehensive around-the-clock care to patients of all ages. The department treats a wide range of conditions from non-emergent complaints to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. A dedicated split-flow area supports efficient evaluation and treatment of fast-track patients with lower acuity needs. Additionally the ED includes a behavioral health intake area designed to safely assess and manage patients presenting mental health and behavioral health concerns.

The Registered Nurse provides compassionate evidence-based nursing care through assessment treatment care coordination patient and family education and individualized care planning while supporting admissions transfers and discharges.

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion acceptance respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds assessments and treatments; facilitating admission transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable etc.

Minimum Education Experience Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

• Bachelors or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

• Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they dont have it already.

• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
