Job Summary
Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join the Observation team. This role will be part-time Day shift from Monday Friday (including some weekends) 7:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.

The Observation Unit at Inova Loudoun Hospital is a 27-bed unit with a rapid patient turnover of admission and discharges. The patient population consists of cardiac neurological medical and surgical patients. Learn the fast-paced atmosphere of an ER setting while gaining critical medical/surgical nursing skills. Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Unit Job Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
- Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner integrating knowledge skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Advocates for patients rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
- Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
- Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
- Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
- Makes clinical decisions based on experience patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors Degree Nursing or Associates Degree from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associates degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Experience: 1 year of Nursing experience
- Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (upon start)
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in: Observation ED and Cardiac/Cardiac Telemetry strongly preferred.
