About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a healthcare team in a permanent Pre-Operative Nursing position in Salina Kansas.
The Pre-Op RN will be responsible for preparing patients for surgical procedures completing comprehensive assessments coordinating care and supporting patients throughout the pre-operative process.
This position is ideal for an experienced RN with a background in Pre-Op Ambulatory Surgery PACU or perioperative nursing.
Schedule
Day shift: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
5 shifts per week
40 hours per week
Full-time permanent position
Participation in required weeknight Friday and weekend on-call rotations
On-call schedule may be subject to change
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments
Prepare patients for surgical and procedural interventions
Review medical histories medications allergies and relevant clinical information
Monitor patients and identify changes in condition requiring intervention
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
Provide appropriate pre-operative treatments and interventions
Educate patients and families about procedures preparation and post-operative expectations
Coordinate patient care with surgeons anesthesiologists nurses and other healthcare professionals
Ensure required documentation and pre-operative information are complete and accurate
Follow patient safety infection prevention and clinical protocols
Communicate effectively with patients families and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Support a safe and efficient surgical workflow
Participate in assigned on-call rotations
Required Qualifications
Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Ability to work full-time 8-hour day shifts
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years
Experience in:
Pre-Op Nursing
Ambulatory Surgery
PACU
Perioperative Nursing
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
American Red Cross CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers certification
BLS/CPR certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment if not already held.
